We were pioneers of Linear Referencing,
which everyone now aspires to. We introduced
Multiple Linear Referencing. We were the first
to integrate mapping into our software, allowing
data to be displayed graphically. We were the
first with web-enabled software. Ours was the
first to work in Mandarin. (And now works in
any language.) And still, no-one brings all your
data in one place in the way we do.
We can take a measured view of the latest
new trends, having seen most of the trends
first time around.
It's safe to say that, whatever challenge
you face, we have the insight, hindsight
and foresight to know exactly what needs
to be done.
Anyone in this industry can look ahead. It's easy to
envisage a time when everyone will have a holistic
view of assets, where strategies will be finely honed,
money will be used more efficiently and resources
will be deployed with incredible intelligence.
Because this is what everybody wants.
The difference with Exor is a realistic vision based
on what we have already achieved and what we
are currently developing, building on our pioneering
work in linear asset management. So where did
the timeline begin?
The founders of Exor were amongst the first
employees of Oracle. And Oracle was one of
eleven companies that responded to a brief from
British Government to develop an all-encompassing
management system for UK assets known
as RMMS.
Oracle won. And five members of the original Exor
line-up were in the team that devised the winning
solution. The system that resulted became the first
commercially available one of its kind anywhere
in the world.
However, instead of hard-coding a response to
RMMS, the team responded with a more flexible,
open approach that could be used outside the
UK on other projects. This decision proved to be
inspired, when Oracle later decided not to continue
in this market sector, Exor was born. One of Exor's
first clients was based in Kentucky.
Exor is one of the first companies in the sector
which still exists today. Many have tried and failed.
We have learned a lot over the years. We have worked
with more customers in more countries than anyone
else. We have solved more unsolvable problems,
including ones you may not even have encountered
yet. We have made and learned from more mistakes.
We have been at the forefront of technology and
migrated our customers safely through several
lifecycles from green screen, through client server
and to the web.
For example, as early as the nineties, we used
hand-held devices featuring components originally
developed for use in US tanks to capture and
validate data in the field. So maybe it won't come
as a surprise that much of our modus operandi is
now the industry standard.
Visionary attitude to
asset management.
You saw it here first.
